Original Flash Gordon Comic Strip Art. Ten Flash Gordon comic strips with original art work by Dan Barry and Bob Fujitani. These ten strips, 5x14" each, were published by King Features Syndicate, Inc. between 1977 and 1978. Very good condition; some age toning; a few blue pencil marks and white-out spots.
The three main characters in the Flash Gordon comic strip are the stalwart Flash Gordon, the beautiful Dale Arden, and the brilliant but unstable Dr. Hans Zarkov. Alex Raymond created Flash Gordon for King Features in 1934 and worked on the strip until 1944, when he entered the Marine Corps. Various other artists worked on the strip until 2003 when production of new strips was stopped. Dan Barry took over the strips in 1951 (he quit the series in 1990) and Bob Fujitani, a prior comic book associate of Barry's from the 1940s, was one of the artists Barry asked to work with him. Fujitani worked on the strip for approximately 25 years.
