19th Century Whaling Print. "Whale Fishery", also titled in several other languages, i.e. "Fremde Jagden", etc., Vienna, ca 1870s. A dramatic view of an angry and spouting harpooned whale upending the offending whaleboat and its sailors while another boat and crew presses home the attack; the mother ship in the background before giant icebergs. Inscribed at lower right "Herausgegeb: v.M. Trentsensky in Wien. No. 12". With an old small Vienna collector's stamp on reverse. In excellent condition, nicely matted for framing or display. Evocative and rare.
