Hawaiian Monarchy Kalihi Mortgage Deed. 14 x 8 in., 1887, March 15, 8 pp. Transaction with Oswald relative to land in Kalihi, District of Kona, Island of Oahu, Hawaii. Handwritten manuscript in fine pen. Among the signatories is William C. Parke (who was appointed Marshall of the Hawaiian Islands by King Kamehameha III around 1850 and served in that capacity until 1884 when he was asked to resign for political reasons by King Kalakaua). Property was subsequently sold to Victoria Ward in 1895 and finally to Charles E. Coe in 1897. Includes 5 cancelled $1.00 Hawaiian government duty stamps. Fine.
