Space Shuttle Enterprise (OV-101) Approach and Landing Tests Crew-Signed Color Photos and Covers: Haise, Fullerton, Engle & Truly (Collection of six multi-signed pieces) Between February and October 1977, a series of 16 tests to determine the Shuttle's flight characteristics while mated to a 747 and on it's own. The first eight tests had no crew in the shuttle but the last three did as the Shuttle was powered on and tested while strapped to Shuttle Carrier Aircraft. Two of the tests were crewed by Fred Haise and Gordon Fullerton and one by Joe Engle and Richard Truly. Five "free flights" were then conducted by the same pairs of crewmen, in two to five minute flights testing landing approaches and systems. Lot includes one signed still by Fred Haise and Gordon Fullerton (inscribed at top "To Jo Ann Best Wishes From ALT Crew" kneeling in front of Enterprise. A second still almost positioned the same are signatures by Joe Engle and Richard Truly kneeling in front of The Enterprise (inscribed To Michael, Best Regards From the Crew of "Enterprise". Also included are two signed covers both signed by Haise and Fullerton and two covers signed by Engle and Truly but one has the additional signatures of the crew in the 747; Fitz Fulton, Tim McMurty, Skip Guidry and Victor Horton.
