1794 Liberty Cap Cent. "Head of 1794". . S-21, R-3. PCGS graded EF-40. Glossy dark steel brown and chocolate with frosty lighter steel brown toning in protected areas of the reverse. The surfaces appear perfectly smooth to the unaided eye, but a strong glass reveals uniform extremely fine granularity covering the surfaces. This micro roughness is effectively hidden by the attractive toning and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. No verdigris or marks other than a tiny speck of lighter brown toning in the field off the tip of the nose. MDS, Breen die state III, with a single die crack joining the cap to the B above. EAC grade VF35, Noyes photo #26602. Pop 4; 12 finer. (PCGS # 901375) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 3,000.

Realized $4,025
