With the Daniel Maclise portrait plate, the 39 Nicholas Nickleby plates by Phiz and 40 additional plates by Thomas Onwhyn under his name and also his pseudonym, Peter Palette. Red leather with gold leaf decorations. In red cloth box with Nickleby and 1839 printed on spine of box. Some rubbing at joints and minor soiling to text. Original blue cover (sold by Hodgsons, Booksellers & Stationers) is bound in front of book.
