Apollo Extravehicular Abrasion Glove Cover (Early Prototype). An original protective over-glove assembly used by astronauts to provide additional wear and abrasion protection to the basic extravehicular glove during lunar surface operations. It was fabricated by Beta fabric and coated carboxy nitroso rubber due to its non-flammability and low temperature flexibility properties. This particular piece represents an early full-finger version of the over-glove configuration. It was later changed to be fingerless. After providing the necessary protection as required, these were disposable at the discretion of the astronaut. Fact sheet with history included. Estimate Value $900 - UP

Realized $930
