1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Shilling. . Noe-16 Rarity-2. VF-30. Struck on a small planchet, possibly neatly clipped down from its original size, weighing only 48.1 grains. Slightly glossy dark gray and olive brown with traces of reddish brown dirt in some of the protected areas. The pine tree, date, and legends are bold and nearly complete, only the tops of a few letters off the planchet. Later die state, although not the latest, with die crumbling in the left side of the tree.
