Apollo 11, Lunar Module 5 (LM-5) "Eagle" Kapton Foil Insulating Blanket Segment Removed For Repair Days Before Launch with LOA. Rare segment from LM-5 "Eagle" one of a layer of nearly 25 that were removed to replace a faulty squib valve critical to Eagle's decent stage. The circumstances and steps that were taken are certified by the Lead Technician of Propulsion and Environmental Controls for Grumman's Lunar Module Support Team in a Letter of Authenticity which is included. Large 6 x 5½" segment is absolutely the largest piece we have ever offered in auction from LM-5 of the Apollo 11 mission.
