Lot 87

1805 C-1 R2- Repunched 5 PCGS graded AU55. Frosty medium steel brown and light olive blending to light chocolate. Mint luster shows in the protected areas and this piece offers excellent eye appeal. Just a light touch of rub on the highpoints and trivial contact marks consistent with the grade. A tiny horizontal nick on the chin may help identify this example. Nicely struck E-MDS, Manley state 2.0, with a rim cud break that involves 5 dentils off the right end of the wreath ribbon. The repunching at the top of the 5 is clear and the reverse is rotated 25 degrees clockwise relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. Our grade is EF45+. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 7 finer for the variety. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
Ex Bowers & Merena 9/1/2005:93-The Green Tree Collection.
