1798 S-177 R4+ Style II Hair with Small 8 VG8. Sharpness F15 or slightly better but lightly corroded with a few patches of reddish verdigris, mostly on the reverse. There are a couple light scratches at the back of the head and another from the eye to the rim at right. The scratches are old and blend perfectly into the slightly glossy dark olive brown and steel patina. The date is bold and the legends are clear except for some weakness inside the wreath. MDS, Breen state III. A clear die crack reaches up into the field from the bust tip but it fades out even with the chin.
