Markham, Beryl, Charles Kingsford Smith, Juan L. Calvo, and Domingo Rosillo. Beryl Markham (1902-1986) British-born Kenyan aviator, horse trainer, and author. On September 4-5, 1936, she became the first person to fly solo, non-stop across the Atlantic from east to west. Signature on a 3x5" card with typed date of her historic flight; slight ink smear to a couple of letters. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith (1897-1935) Pioneer Australian aviator. He made the first trans-Pacific flight from the United States to Australia in 1928; he disappeared near the Bay of Bengal on Nov. 8, 1935. Autograph card with small image signed "C Kingsford Smith." Also, two signatures of Juan L. Calvo, who flew from Manila to Madrid in 1936, and signature of Domingo Rosillo, who, in 1913, became the first person to make a solo flight from the U.S. to Cuba. All but Beryl Markham are attached to a page with brief biographical information and commemorative stamps. Overall toning. Estimated Value $200 - UP
