Two Transmissions From Space: Data Strips from Mariner 2 and Apollo 15. Great for space collectors of every age, two transmission strips from two eras of America's space exploration. The first is a data information strip receiving information from the Mariner 2 spacecraft while in the vicinity of Venus, likely radiometric temperature readings. Included is an information sheet and a copy of a note by a JPL senior director who provided the strips, a Mariner 2 commemorative cover from Dec. 1962 with explanation card of communication waves as well as a wonderful vintage original 8 x 10" black and white photo of of Mariner 2 during testing at JPL. The other strip is a data read-out from the instrument package left on the moon known as ALSEP that measures seismographic activity (vibrations) beneath the moon's surface.
