Artist Emily Sartain (First Woman to Practice Mezzotint Engraving), and Three Musicians--Jan Kubelik, Solomon Cutner, and Gerard Souzay. Emily Sartain was the only woman to win a gold medal at the 1876 Philadelphia World's Fair. ALS on textured paper, 8 x 5", Philadelphia, Jan. 2, 1891, accepting the honor of being elected as a life member of the New Century Club. Darker toning around edges, light purple transfer from an unknown document, 1" tear at right edge of salutation, and mounting remnants on verso. About very good. Jan Kubelik, signature and date ("10-X 1933") in green ink by the renowned violinist and composer; Solomon Cutner sentiment, signature ("Solomon"), and date (August 1948) by the famous pianist; and French baritone Gerard Souzay, Isprog.
