Lot 80

1804 C-11 R2 Plain 4 with Stems PCGS graded VF30. Rather frosty dark steel brown and olive. A bit darker than you might like to see on such a sharp piece. The surfaces are smooth and void of verdigris. Just a few light contact marks including an S-shaped hairline scratch in the field before the portrait and a few nicks on the jaw. MDS, Manley state 2.0. Die swelling has weakened the wreath ribbons above the fraction while the rest of the devices are nicely struck. Our grade is VF30, same as the PCGS grade. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 9 finer for the variety. Estimate Value $600 - UP
Ex Bowers & Merena 11/15/2007-The Green Tree Collection.

Realized $911
