Apollo 11: Two (2) Segments of Flown Thermal Mylar Film Coating, "Kapton" Foil. Two medium sized Kapton foil segments (officially GT-131 Thermal Control Coating Laminate) are from the Apollo 11 Command Module, "Columbia" which in 1969 carried Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to the moon. The mylar film coating provided thermal protection for the Command Module. Once returned to Earth, thermal coating was removed from the spacecraft and very often used for presentation purposes usually entombed in lucite. These are nicely sized segments, one 2 x 3¼" and the other 2 x 2¼" Both are in a clear mylar sleeve where one can clearly see the heat stress and buckling. Comes with exceptional provenance and COA.
