Lot 769

1851 N-22 R4. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Lustrous light steel brown with traces of mint red remaining on both sides. There is a small spot of slightly darker toning hidden in the dentils at star 3 and a collection of tiny ticks on the face with a single nick on the upright of the first 1 in the date. An attractive cent with solid mint state eye appeal, but there are just too many tiny ticks on the face for a mint state grade in our opinion. M-LDS, die state b late. The die lines and points around the portrait remain clear but the lines from the tops of NI in UNITED are very dull. Our grade is net AU58, CC#6 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
Estimated Value $350-UP.

Realized $460
