1851/81 N-3 R1 51 over 81. NGC graded MS-64 Brown. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Satiny mint frost covers the fields and protected areas on both sides. The only defects are a tiny planchet flake, as struck, near the dentils under star 3 and traces of oxidation or PVC residue on the highest points of the design on the reverse. Sharply struck VEDS, die state a early. The fields on the lower half of the obverse are covered with strong die lines and the 51 over inverted 81 feature is bold. Same die state as the preceding lot. Our grade is MS62. The 1851/81 feature is noted on the NGC label.
