Envelope free franked "James Monroe" at top right of an envelope addressed in Monroe's hand to James S. L. Lansten, Esquire. With red "FREE" stamp and red circular cancellation, "NEW YORK NOV 5". The year "1830" is penciled in at lower left. Fine. Matted with a color image of Monroe and framed to an overall size of 14 x 18¼". Estimate $400 - 600
