(M-G-M) Janet Gaynor by Willinger & Gladys Swarthout by Hurrell. Two double-weight, vintage photographs: Janet Gaynor (first Oscar winner for Best Actress) by Lazlo Willinger. 13" x 10"; verso has stamped credit and printed snipe for Gaynor's role in the 1938 film Three Loves Has Nancy Very fine. Gladys Swarthout, by George Hurrell, 14' x 11"; verso has stamped credit and date--"Feb. 17 1938" and handwritten film title, Romance in the Dark, one of five pictures the Metropolitan Opera singer and actress starred in. Fine; some lower corner creasing. Both photos are encased in mylar for preservation.
