1846 N-4 R1 Boldly Repunched Date. NGC graded MS-62 Brown. Attractive glossy light to medium chocolate brown with a subtle swipe of reddish chocolate toning under the E in CENT. No roughness, only a few trivial marks, including a small planchet flake on the end of the wreath ribbon. MDS, die state c, showing a few fine die cracks on the reverse. The bold repunching on the entire date is strong (the date was initially punched too high and to the left, then corrected). Our grade is EF45+. The attribution and Reiver provenance and noted on the NGC label.
Estimated Value $150-UP.
Ex George Ramont 10/13/1969-Jules Reiver, Heritage 1/24/2006:20231.
