The Majapahit Empire, an Indianized kingdom based in Eastern Java, which flourished in the 12th and 16th centuries and considered a Golden Age for Hindu empires in the history of Indonesia.This also marked a significant and impressive period in Javanese jewellery as seen in this remarkable Majapahit high-karat slide necklace of a sea turtle with a bobble head, that adjusts up and down, an outstanding barrel-weave patterned chain with each tip ending in mangosteen-like fruit tip pendants. Absolutely wearable, centuries-old art chain measures 46" long; slide works very well and the condition of the piece is outstanding. Necklace weighs 123 Grams. Estimate Value $3,000 - UP
