Lot 673

1793 S-1 R4 NCS graded VF Details Tooled, Burnished. Chain AMERI. Attractive glossy dark chocolate and olive brown with smooth, mark-free surfaces. Looks very nice to the unaided eye, but a closer look reveals that the surfaces were very carefully smoothed and the hair details were delicately strengthened. There is no hint of corrosion or roughness, so the reason for the smoothing is not clear. The only mark is a dull rim nick over the U in UNITED. The date and legends are complete and strong, but the die state can't be determined due to the smoothing. Our grade is VF30 sharpness net F12. The attribution is noted on the NCS label.
Estimated Value $10,000 - 15,000.

Realized $16,675
