1888. PCGS graded Proof 65+ Cameo. CAC. PQ. A blazing white cameo proof that displays bold contrast between the frosted devices and the perfectly smooth mirrored fields. This is James B. Longacre's Indian Princess design, which was quite popular in the day. It was somewhat of a stretch to show Liberty wearing an Indian Headdress, but in this case the design is quite elegant. This one was struck near the tail end of production for the Gold dollar, and was clearly saved carefully over the ensuing years. Only 1,079 struck.
