Lot 67

$5 National Bank Note. First NB, Santa Barbara, CA. Ch. 2104. Fr. 472. PCGS-C XF 45. Chartered in May 1873 as the First National Gold Bank of Santa Barbara, it would drop the Gold moniker in 1880 to this title. While listed in the census, our consignor purchased this privately in 2003. Stamped signatures of H.P. Lincoln as Cashier and R.B. Canfield as President, with these two serving together from 1897 until 1915. A beautiful example certain to see spirited bidding today. Estimated Value $2,500 - UP
The Santa Barbara Collection.
