1797 C-3b R4. About Good-3. Lettered Edge. Slightly sharper but there is an old but strong scratch from the bottom of the L in LIBERTY down to the chin and two small punchmarks over EN in CENT. The planchet shows very fine roughness in the fields and protected areas while the highpoints are nearly smooth. Slightly glossy olive brown, light on the devices and darker in protected areas. The date is complete and easily readable. The legends are readable except for weakness at STATES OF AM and HALF, which are faint at best. The edge lettering is complete and strong.
