Lot 651

1865. PCGS graded Proof 67. Wonderful rainbow toning on both sides which shows as royal blue at the rims with sky blue portions too, then vibrant russet gold in the fields. The centers are satiny gold and silver frost. A tough date with a low mintage in proof as well as a tiny mintage for circulation, keeping collector interest high when any example of this date appears, especially one like this in superb gem! Gorgeous quality and exceptional eye appeal. Sure looks better than PF-67. Only 500 struck. Pop 1; 2 finer in 67 Cameo. (PCGS # 4448) Estimated Value $5,000 - UP
