1804 C-4 R5 PCGS VG Details, Environmental Damage. Slightly glossy medium steel and olive brown. The planchet is covered with microscopic roughness on all but the highpoints, which are smooth. No verdigris, and the only mark is a dull pinch or nick on the rim that affects the bottom of the 1 in the date. LDS, Manley state 3.0, with a fine die crack from the 4 through the bust tip, a die state called "Extremely Rare" by Manley in his half cent reference. The date and legends are complete and clear, although the bottom of the 1 in the date was "smooshed" a bit by the nick. Our grade is VG8+ net VG7. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Only 7 examples of the variety graded at PCGS. Estimate Value $800 - UP
