Napoleon I. Manuscript letter signed ("Nap"), 1 page, 9 x 7¼ in., St. Cloud, June 23, 1811. During the Peninsula Campaign, Napoleon writes to "the Major General," (his Chief of Staff Berthier) saying 900 men from the Regiment of the Vistula would be arriving at Pau on July 31 and other troops would be arriving from Italy and artillery units would arrive in Toulouse. All had to be organized by the first day of August. The general should communicate with the general officer at Pau since it was going to be the place of passage to Arragon. The general officer would frequently inform him of the state of affairs at Pau and would correspond with him and with General Mouthiou.
