Vincent Lopez. Five 8 x 10 in. negatives, three of Lopez alone, one of Lopez and his orchestra, and one a caricature of Lopez, each accompanied by a positive copy (a positive copy is basically a xerox copy made with the sole purpose of showing what the negative images look like; photographic prints can be made from the negatives). Lopez (1895-1975) was a bandleader and pianist who began broadcasting on radio in 1921 and continued through the 1940s, becoming one of America's most popular bandleaders. Beginning in 1941, his orchestra played at the Taft Hotel in Manhattan for 20 years. Musicians who played in his band included Artie Shaw, Xavier Cugat, Jimmy Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, Mike Mosiello and Glenn Miller.
Estimated Value $150 - 200.
