Each with frontispiece and forty five illustrations by Harry Furniss; 3 pages and 5 pages respectively for volumes 1 and 2 of publisher's advertisements at end. Full gilt-stamped red morocco. Second volume inscribed and signed by Carroll on the half-title page: " Angela Barnes with the Author's love Dec. 27 1893" in black ink. Each volume in a custom-made tri-fold case, housed in a joint half-morocco slipcover with raised bands and gilt lettering; spine of slipcover has numerous nicks to leather, not affecting the two volumes.
