Cilicia, Tarsos. Datames. Silver Stater (10.44 g), Satrap of Cilicia and Cappadocia, 384-361/0 BC. Struck ca. 375 BC. Baaltars seated right, holding grain ear, grapes, and eagle-tipped scepter; below throne, bucranium; all within crenelated wall. Rev. Satrap, wearing Persian dress, seated right, holding arrow; in upper right field, winged solar disk; before legs, bow. SNG BN 286-8; SNG Levante 88. A wonderful strike on both sides with full borders well defined. A splendid example, quite rare in such high grade. Lightly toned. Superb Extremely Fine. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
