Lot 6

1804 C-6 R2 Spiked Chin PCGS graded AU53. Frosty steel brown and chocolate with lighter brown and tan in some of the protected areas and darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. The surfaces are smooth and there are no notable marks or other defects, but the surfaces are a bit dull from a thin layer of natural oxidation. Looks like this piece hasn't been touched for a very long time. Scarce EDS, Manley state 1.0 late, with die cracks through the legend outside the wreath but no crack up from the top of the I in UNITED. The Spiked Chin feature is obvious to the unaided eye. A nice half cent. Our grade is EF40. The Spiked Chin feature is noted on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $700 - UP
Ex Greg Hannigan 11/7/2009-William Hamilton Collection.
