Lot 592

1820/19 N-3 R2 Small Overdate 20 over 19 AU58. Lustrous steel brown and light chocolate with wisps of darker chocolate toning on the obverse. Tiny peeps of faded mint color can be found around the wreath. Just the lightest touch of rub on the highest points from mint state. The best identifying marks are a small spot of darker toning low on the neck and an even smaller one near the dentils at the bottom of the reverse. Nicely struck E-MDS. The overdate is visible on both digits, strongest on the 2 but clear inside the 0. Noyes graded AU55 net AU50, his photo #31739. A premium example of this popular "Redbook" variety, and it comes with an important provenance.
Estimated Value $800-UP.
