Lot 557

1800 S-208 R3 VG10. Several points sharper with too many light contact marks for the higher grade. The planchet is decent but not perfectly smooth, and there are traces of verdigris around the fraction. A couple light hairline scratches across the date and a small chip out of the rim over the right edge of the E in AMERICA are the best identifying marks. Mostly glossy chocolate and olive brown with slightly lighter steel brown toning on the devices. MDS, Breen state II, with an incomplete rim cud break at TY extending to the right, but the dentils over TY are still visible. The date and legends are complete and clear. Removed from a PCI slab graded VF25 (PCI label #223210-003 included, and it shows the attribution).
Estimated Value $300-UP.

Realized $282
