[Hirohito]. Typed Letter Signed "G. Tanaka" as Prime Minister of Japan, "Tokugawa Iyesato," "Goto Shimpei" in Japanese," "Shibusawa Eiichi" in Japanese," "K. Shidehara," "J. Inouye," "Takuma Dan," and "Manzo Kushida," two conjoined pages (recto), 9¼ x 6¾ in., Tokyo, 28 February 1928. A letter in English to Darwin P. Kingsley (president of New York Life Insurance Co., from 1906-30), New York City, regarding "The Enthronement of His Imperial Majesty, The Emperor of Japan, which will take place in November, 1928…It is with pleasure and satisfaction that we learn The Japanese Advertiser intends to publish an Enthronement Edition…We understand this Enthronement Edition will be in the nature of a tribute to Japan and as such it offers a unique opportunity for expressions of good will. …We feel honored to include you in a personally selected list of a limited number of our friends and friends of Japan…." Fine condition. Four years later, four of the signers of this letter, including the Prime Minister, would be assassinated by the League of Blood.
