A Catalina Sub Hunter On Patrol in WW 2 by Nixon Galloway. A wonderful and evocative wartime image by famous aviation artist Nixon Galloway, ASAA (died Jan. 2003), whose paintings have been exhibited at the Air Force Museum, Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, Kennedy Space Center, RAF Museum in London and the White House. Here a PBY Catalina patrol bomber flies lonely anti-submarine duty in the North Atlantic during World War Two, with icebergs below and a glacier in the background. A print laid down on canvas, then slightly highlighted by the artist and hand signed by him at lower right with date 1988. 28.25" X 18.25", handsomely framed to an overall size of 30" X 40"; minor steaking, otherwise very good condition and ready to hang.
Estimated Value $200 - 300.
