Exceptional Gaudy Dutch China Grape Pattern, Lidded Sugar Bowl ca. 1820. Gaudy Dutch pottery was made in England for the American market from about 1810 to 1820. It is a white earthenware with Imari-style decorations of red, blue, green, yellow, and black inspired by Japanese Imari Pottery. Only sixteen patterns of Gaudy Dutch were made. Here a very scarce, large, two-handled, lidded sugar bowl in remarkable condition. No cracks, no repairs and only two flea bites on inside lip of bowl. Measures 3½ x 7 x 4½". Beautiful condition. Be sure to see our other Gaudy Dutch and Worcester porcelain. $300 - 500
From A Prominent Pennsylvania Estate.
