Lot 479

1806 C-4 R1 Large 6 EF45. Frosty tan and light brown. Quite attractive and virtually free of marks, but there is an obvious planchet delamination across the bust and upper half of the date. But fortunately this piece has two dates from which to choose, and the second one is complete. This piece was struck twice with a 68-degree clockwise rotation between the impressions. Both strikes were properly centered on the planchet and much of the undertype first impression remains visible. EDS, Manley state 1.0, with sharp doubling on the 6. A great half cent that boldly shows two types of mint error. Value $3,000 - UP
Ex Ken Seville 6/1995-The Widok Collection.

Realized $9,300
