Marilyn Monroe: Three George Barris Single Weight Photographs from THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH, One in B&W Signed by Barris. Two in Color. Marilyn Monroe starred in Billy Wilder's hilarious comedy THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH in 1955. The film was a huge hit earning 12 times its budget. But director Wilder was also a savvy promoter and invited limited press to the night time shoot outside the Trans-Lux 52nd Street Theater of the infamous subway grate scene months in advance. Photographer George Barris was at that shoot and captured the commotion, the theater and Marilyn's dress billowing up from the blast of air. Contrary to legend, much of the footage was used in the film as well as footage shot in a sound stage. 8 x 10" photos.

1.) Photo Marilyn Monroe at window of Tom Ewell's apartment in a bathrobe with George Barris signing at top right. On the verso three Barris copyright stamps.
2.) Photo of Marilyn Monroe on location atop subway grate with co-star Tom Ewell looking flummoxed true to character. Stamped on verso with Barris copyright.
3.) Photo of Marilyn Monroe on location with Tom Ewell with a crew member checking white balance and color. Stamped on verso with Barris copyright information. Estimated Value $500 - 900
From the Collection of Mark Rofeh.
