(Pearl Harbor). Three photographs: Two 8 x 10 in. black and white official U.S. Navy photographs of the USS West Virginia and the USS Tennessee after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Smoke billows as the ships list in the water. One is fine; one has minor blemishes at lower edge. Also, a professional grade 11 x 14 inch copy of an original aerial photograph taken by a Japanese pilot during the attack on Pearl Harbor. It is an aerial view of Ford Island and Battleship Row very early in the attack; several Japanese planes are visible and a waterspout is evident in the area of the USS West Virginia and the USS Oklahoma. Ship's names have been added. The photo was found among Japanese records confiscated at the Tokosuka Japan Naval Facility on November 8, 1945. From the estate of a Pearl Harbor survivor and retired U.S. Navy CPO.
