Vespasian, 69-79 AD. "Judaea Capta Issue." AE Sestertius, Rome mint, struck 71 AD. Laureate head of Vespasian right. Reverse: Vespasian, in military attire right, foot resting on helmet and holding parazonium, stands before palm tree, at base of which a Jewess sits in mourning. RIC 427; Hendin 775. Fields smoothed, also some tooling to Vespasian's hair, and along his reverse figure. Still, the portrait bold and agreable. Dark green to green-black patina. Choice Very Fine.
