Eisenhower, Dwight D. -- Eight Letters to the Chairman of the Republican National Committee (1890-1969) 34th President of the United States (1953-61). Eight typed letters signed "D.E." seven times and "D.D.E." once, on letterhead engraved "DDE", total of nine pages. To Ray Bliss (1907-81), Chairman of the Republican National Committee, who was credited with putting the party back together after Goldwater's defeat and with Nixon's victory in 1968. Datelined from Oct. 21, 1966 to Dec. 21, 1967, all from Gettysburg, six with transmittal envelopes. All moderately toned, else fine. Content includes thanks for birthday wishes, flowers, articles, travel plans, and one with interesting comments on documents entitled "Clean Air" and "Home Ownership," topics he refers to as "two of our major problems."
