1843 N-10 R3 Petite Head, Small Ltrs NGC graded MS65 Brown. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate with peeps of faded mint color showing on both sides, especially on the reverse. Nearly free of marks; the only notable ones are a thin nick left of star 7, a tick under the ribbon end, and a tiny planchet flake over the left side of the F in OF. There are very faint horizontal lines covering the obverse from a poor brushing while the reverse is untouched. MDS, die state a late, with a single tiny lump in the field under the N in CENT. Removed from an old green label PCGS holder graded MS64BN (PCGS label #01844.64/6011257 included). Our grade is MS60, tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 2; none finer. Estimated Value $2,000 - UP
