1843 N-9 R2 Petite Head, Small Ltrs PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Repunched 843. Lustrous medium brown with delicate overtones of light bluish steel, particularly on the reverse. Looks mint state but there is a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. Just a few light contact marks including a dull nick on the chin and a faint scrape on the front edge of the neck. LDS, die state c. The lump below the and earlier die lines are gone but the repunching under the 843 remains visible. A narrow rim cud break shows between stars 1 & 2 but no other rim cuds are visible. Our grade is AU55. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 2 finer in 64. Estimated Value $650 - UP
