Lot 414

[American Plains Indian Wars] Military Kepi, c. 1870s. Black wool kepi with intact gold bullion embroidered crossed rifles. Original gold bullion chin strap is held in place by two brass buttons with "Indiana" and a scene with a man, a deer, trees to the right and the sun overhead (probably a precursor to the present Indian state seal which has a buffalo instead of a deer). Sweatband and interior are intact with minor tears. Exterior has some moth holes, detracting little from overall appearance.
Estimated Value $300 - 600.

Realized $360
