Naples. Scudo d'oro, ND. Fr-835; CNI-XIX Pl XIII,14. 3.38 grams. 22.51 mm. Carlo V, 1519-1556. Obv. Double headed eagle on imperial arms within beaded border on both sides of arms only. Leg: CAROLVS --V:RO:IM: Reverse: Floriated cross with arms of cross touching beaded inner circle. Flame in four angles of cross and "K" in field of third quadiant. Leg: +:AISPARVM:VTRIVS:SICI:R:R. NGC graded MS-62.

Charles V was possibly the most powerful ruler in the history of Europe. He controlled Spain, Naples and Sicily, and the Holy Roman Empire. He proved not equal to the complicated machinations of the politics of the time,and later abdicated.
