Phoenicia, Tyre, 87/6 BC. AR Shekel (or Phoenician weight Tetradrachm; 14.36 g) dated year 40. Laureate head right of Melqart. Reverse: Eagle standing left on prow; in left field, club with date above. BMC 133. Some underlying luster. Extremely Fine.

A lovely specimen of the "30 Pieces of Silver" type paid to Judas Iscariot for his betrayal of Christ.
