Alfred Hitchcock: Early Caricature Signed in Choice Condition (1899-1980) The Master of Suspense and one of the most studied and celebrated film directors of all time. Hitchcock also could turn the camera or focus on himself due to his instantly recognizable rotund body. He would place himself in many of his films, his television show had him walk into his line profile, and if he had time, would sign his name with a side profile of his instantly recognizable face.

Here is a choice, early example executed on the back of a 5 x 3.75" card advertising a Duty Free shop in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Hitchcock has executed his caricature and signature in blue fountain pen ink and inscribed to "George". Based on the writing style, and the products/brands listed on the shop advertising on verso, this is likely from the mid-1950s. Estimated Value $500 - 900

Realized $536
