Judith Leiber Bejeweled Swarovski Crystal Russian Egg Minaudière. Judith Leiber (1921-2018) took the fashion world by storm with her exceptional bags and most especially her eye-catching minaudiérers which have seen countless ceremonies, galas, weddings and the like. Each a remarkable handcrafted work of art resplendent in Swarovski crystals. Several of her works are in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Offered is a beautiful example of her genius in the shape of a Russian or Faberge egg from Judith Leiber Couture Ltd. Purse is made of metal, leather and hundreds of white crystals on gilt gold. The inside is in gold leather. ca. 1980s

This particular piece enjoyed a great number of swell evenings. There are about 40 to 50 missing crystals and a tiny dent. A steady hand and a modicum of talent in arts and craft could have this piece in red carpet condition. Clasp works fine when lid lined up for closing. 7 x 2 x 6"

Originally sold for thousands of dollars. Estimated Value $500 - 900
